Samsung ATIV S Neo joins the Windows Phone 8 party with a 4.8-inch display - SlashGear

This week the folks at Samsung have ushered in a new Windows Phone 8 device just in time for Microsoft’s BUILD 2013 conference. This conference allows developers from across the planet to engage with Microsoft on all things software, this year’s event bringing forth a new Windows Phone 8.1 environment for the masses. This Samsung device joins in on the fun with a newly massive display.

The Samsung ATIV S Neo brings a 4.8-inch high-definition display alongside a 1.4GHZ dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM. Just enough to match the top-tier Windows Phone 8 device on the market today. Though these specifications aren’t quite as top-tier as some of the Android entries Samsung has delivered of late, they’re ready and willing to, again, meet and beat the rest of the Windows Phone 8 devices on the market.

This device works with an 8 megapixel camera on its back and a 1.9 megapixel camera on its front. These cameras work with software features such as Beauty Shot for “smoother looking skin” as well as Magna Camera for “turning friends into cartoons.” The latter is unique to Windows Phone 8 and Samsung – we’ll be having a peek at that oddity soon.

This device works with ATIV Beam with NFC for sending photos, music, and video to and from select Windows Phone 8 and Android devices with ease. It’ll be working with a Samsung exclusive “Now” feature as well for news and weather information “at a single glance.”

Just as it is with the HTC Windows Phone 8XT revealed earlier today, this machine works with 4G LTE data connectivity with its (for now) exclusive one-carrier release. Also note: this device is exceedingly similar to the original Samsung ATIV S.
