Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus Priced at $1400, Shipping August 20 - TechnologyTell (blog)

Samsung-Ativ-Book-9-PlusSamsung’s ATIV line of Windows-powered gadgets formally received new reinforcements back in June, when the Tab 3, Q, Book 9 Lite and Book 9 Plus were unveiled. But it’s only now we’re actually seeing these making their way to store shelves.

The ATIV Book 9 Lite went up for grabs about ten days ago, the Tab 3 is to ship on August 25 and the Book 9 Plus may see daylight five days earlier. That’s at least when B&H expects to be able to kick shipping into gear, with Adorama a little more cautious as it lists the ultrabook simply as “back-ordered.”

The exact release date is probably not that important right now, which is not what we can say about pricing. In fact, this is what will make or break the ATIV Book 9 Plus. The 13-inch laptop will cost… drum roll, please… $1,400.

Wow, that’s a small fortune for some, but I can’t say I’m shocked. After all, this is one bitching computing machine, both on the inside and outside. It weighs in at 1.39 kg, measures 13.6 mm in thickness, plus it packs Intel Haswell power, courtesy of a Core i5 CPU.

And don’t even get me started on the sensational 3,200 x 1,800 pixels resolution panel. Plus, you get 4 GB of RAM, a 128 GB SSD, Windows 8, Intel HD 4400 graphics, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, wireless display technology, Ethernet and SD support. Wow again, am I right?
