Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus review: the beauty of 3200x1800 pixels - Hardware.Info

Introduction

One of the prettiest and most deluxe Ultrabooks money can buy is the Samsung Series 9. Recently the more affordable ATIV Book 9 Lite was added to the line-up, and now there's a new high-end model as well. The Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus comes with an incredible 3200x1800 touchscreen.

The Samsung Series 9 is stylish as ever, with a supersleek aluminium body. It's really a sight to behold when it's in front of you, with its dark blueish hue and brushed aluminium accents on the sides.

When you flip it open, that sense of high-end style remains. The black keys are backlit, the touchpad is large and then you have that screen. The minimalistic design of course doens't leave a lot of room for connectors. There is one USB 3.0 port on each side, and there's a full-size card reader. The rest of the connectors consist of Micro HDMI, Ethernet (including cable) and VGA. That does mean you have to use adapters for some connections.

While it's possible to bend the screen all the way back so it's flat on the table, it's not as flexible as for example the Lenovo Yoga. The sound quality of this Ultrabook is surprisingly good for a laptop, and especially for an Ultrabooks.
