Samsung predominately focuses resources on its faithful Android community, but the company also has a pretty firm grasp on the Windows Phone market. And to further entertain the folks over in Microsoft’s camp, Samsung has unleashed the ATIV S Neo, a 4.8-inch, Windows Phone 8 device heading to Sprint for $149.
Announced just last week, the handset is a slightly beefed up ATIV S, equipped with 1.4GHz dual-core Qualcomm chip, 1GB of RAM, 2,000 mAh battery, 8-megapixel camera (1.9-megapixel front) and 16GB of internal storage. There’s also NFC support to users can take advantage of Samsung’s ATIV Beam software, which allows customers to easily share media to other WP devices.
Now doesn’t seem like the most prudent time to release a new Windows Phone device, especially with much stronger ones on the way. For that matter, Nokia has its own lineup of Lumia devices that offer a lot more than you’d find with something like the ATIV S Neo, including great camera and mapping software. Still, if you adhere to the Samsung brand, and want to give Windows Phone a spin, you can pick up the S Neo for $149 through Sprint.
