Intel Showcases Dual OS Android/Windows Hybrids to CES 2014 - Osun Defender
As CES 2014 begins today, Intel is ready to launch dual OS devices, partnering up with PC makers and offering both Android on Windows on the same machines.
The International CES is a global consumer electronics and consumer technology tradeshow that takes place every January in Las Vegas, Nevada. The new Intel device shows that Android will, apparently, run via virtualization software within Windows.
This means users can be able to use apps from both OSes side by side. Intel is supporting this concept and it’s working with PC manufacturers on a few of these machines.
The dual OS idea isn’t new, since Samsung launched the Ativ Q Windows laptop last summer with the ability to launch virtual Android through an app called Dual OS.
ASUS also filed a document recently with the FCC addressing the same dual OS setup. All of this has been tried before with the likes of Bluestacks, but the entire concept hasn’t caught on in the general public, as Microsoft and Google would have probably liked, according to 9to5google.
